Akimbo is a nonet merging modernist compositional thinking with organic expression and innovative live electronics. The ensemble's upcoming album will be released in 2026 by the New York label Inner Circle Music.

Akimbo's music is a carefully maintained balance between the leader's multi-layered compositions and the ensemble's expressive improvisations.

The project brings together elements that blur the boundary between structure and freedom: algorithmic resonances generated in real time using the SuperCollider programming language; episodes of conduction — leader-directed collective improvisation; and game pieces — improvised structures that unfold in various ways within the compositional framework.
